I hereby declare I shall always strive

Points you can earn towards your state convention
trip:
- attending each meeting (on time and not leaving
early) - 10 points
- wearing Beta shirts on spirit day - 5 points (must
sign "sign-in" sheet that day)
7th grade with Mrs. Brewer, 8th
with Mr. English
- knowing the Beta pledge when called on to say it - 5
points - every time asked
- showing report card on day it is issued - 4 pts for
each 'A' and 3 for each 'B'
8th grade with Mrs. McGregor, 6th & 7th with Mr. English
half points given if report card is shown next day
no points if not shown and we have to go look for
it
making Banner Roll - 10 extra points
making Honor Roll - 5 extra points
4pts of every A, 3 points of every B
- running for school level office - 5 points
- winning school level office - 10 points
- signing up for a distinct competition - 5 points
- being selected for district competition - 10 points
- winning district - 15 points
- placing at district - 5 points
- being selected to run for state office - 15 points
- local community service project - 5 points per hour
worked
- being an active member in other clubs, organizations,
or teams - 5 points per organization
- being selected as Student of the Year - 10 points
- being selected Cal-Cam Fair representative - 5
points
- taking part in the MSU Math or MSU ELA classes - 5
points
- serving in church (choir, usher, alter person, etc)
- with proof from minister - 10 points
- recognized for community service by other groups -
up to 15 points
- classroom behavior as determined by your teachers -
5 points per core class teacher, 3 per enrichment
- serving as after school tutor - 5 points

- service up and beyond as determined by Mr. English
and Mrs. Brewer - up to 10 points
Convention trip members will be determined after
Christmas and point totals will be poster HERE.
OPMS BETA GUIDELINES
There are certain rules that each member must
agree to:

All members must be
leaders in school - of worthy character and commendable attitude. It is
of highest honor to be selected to join Beta, and each student must treat
it as such.
·
Student must be willing
to work both in and out of class for the betterment of our self,
school, and community.
·
Students must maintain
honor roll status or
above, with no grade below a "B" (3.0)
·
A grade of
"C" will place a student on a six-weeks probation at which time
the grade must be brought back to honor roll status. If not improved,
the student will be removed from Beta.
·
A six weeks grade of
“D" or "U"; or
being suspended or expelled, will
result in a student member being immediately removed.
·
All fees paid before
probation or removal from organization forfeited.
·
Due to field trips,
t-shirts, national, state, and local registration, a yearly fee of $100
will be charged.
·
District and state
convention travel rights must be earned through service projects, Beta
activities, academic grade points, scholastic standing, meeting
attendance,
·
Monthly meetings will
be held from 3:10-3:40 on the second Wednesday of the month.
·
All fee deadlines must
be met without fail.
·
All class and or trip
rules must be followed at all times without question.
